District quantities are ZIP-boundary-area-weighted legislative estimates. The ZIP matrix remains the direct geographic evidence layer.

How this district estimate was constructed

The estimate starts with direct ZIP/ZCTA evidence and the governed 2025 ZIP-to-Texas-legislative-district crosswalk. When a ZIP overlaps more than one district, additive ZIP-level values are multiplied by area_ratio, the share of that ZIP's geographic area inside the district, and then summed. District ratios are recomputed from those allocated components rather than averaging ZIP-level ratios.
