The estimate starts with direct ZIP/ZCTA evidence and the governed 2025 ZIP-to-Texas-House-district crosswalk. Duplicate ZIP×district relationships are first reduced with MAX(area_ratio), never SUM(area_ratio). Split ZIPs are preserved. Additive ZIP values are multiplied by area_ratio, the share of that ZIP's geographic area inside the district, and summed. District ratios are recomputed from the corrected components.
